If you are in Middle School then you are invited to Ryde Rock Solid! Rock Solid is part of YFC who you will have seen in your school doing Assemblies & Bible Explorer lessons. Each Club night we do games and activities around a theme like Friendship, Family, Bullying & Money. We also have a chat about what God thinks about these different things too. We are on every other Thursday, 7-9pm with a tuck shop at the end. We hope you can make it, Becca & the Ryde Solid Team :)
Notes for Parents- Rock Solid Clubs are run by CRB checked volunteers from local churches alongside Charity organisation Youth for Christ. Please accompany your child on their first visit to the club, as you will need to fill out a medical & consent form. For more info about Rock Solid please phone the IOW YFC office on 524083
Every Rock Solid club on the Island follows our Safe From Harm policy, and is covered by the charity's public liability insurance.
Rock Solid – Sharing life with 9 - 13s
The majority of 9 - 13 year-olds have never heard the good news of Jesus in a way that is relevant to them. Rock Solid exists to share the gospel through friendships, fun and interactive activities, always including a challenge to respond. You’ll be amazed at how quickly 9 - 13 year-olds join in and feel at home with the activities and discussion groups. For many young people, Rock Solid is the start of their journey to faith, and provides the foundations for their growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
“Rock Solid is really helping us to get across the life-changing message that so many of our young people need to hear.” Joanna, youth worker, Burscough
It’s over ten years since Youth for Christ launched Rock Solid – the UK’s first structured and supported termly evangelistic programme for 9 - 13s. Since then, Rock Solid has gained an excellent track record of helping hundreds of churches to connect with this age group in ways that are fun, relevant and exciting. The clubs are lead by local teams of volunteers; are sometimes linked to a specific church, but are sometimes “owned” by a group of churches working together.
Rock Solid focuses the group around different core themes and issues each week. Sessions include high-energy games and a variety of activities and illustrations to encourage group discussion. ‘Thought’ sections put forward a helpful and biblical perspective to the session’s topic, and each session is structured in a way that encourages interaction between the young people and helps them build friendships.
